Call for Abstracts Announced for ET ’27 – The Fourteenth International Aluminum Extrusion Technology Seminar and Exposition
The ET Foundation and the Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC) have announced the Call for Abstracts for ET '27, the Fourteenth International Aluminum Extrusion Technology Seminar and Exposition. Scheduled for April 26–30, 2027, ET ‘27 will be held at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, Florida, with the core technical and exposition events taking place April 27–29.
AEC Applauds the Trump Administration for Creating a Fair & Level Playing Field for Aluminum Extruders
The Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC) applauds the Trump Administration's continued efforts to create a fair and level playing field for American aluminum extrusion manufacturers through the February 10, 2025 Presidential Proclamation, Adjusting Imports of Aluminum into the United States. The Proclamation set forth crucial changes to the Section 232 program to support U.S. aluminum production throughout the value chain and to strengthen our national and economic security.
Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC) Applauds U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for Forced Labor Determination on Kingtom Aluminio S.R.L.
The Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC) commends U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for its decisive action in issuing a forced labor finding against Kingtom Aluminio S.R.L. (“Kingtom”). Following a thorough investigation, CBP determined that aluminum extrusions, profile products and derivatives manufactured by Kingtom in the Dominican Republic were produced using convict, forced, or indentured labor, in violation of Section 307 of the Tariff Act of 1930 (19 U.S.C. 1307). AEC Releases Call for Entries for 2025 Student Aluminum Extrusion Design Competition
The Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC) and its research and education organization, the ET Foundation, have released the Call for Entries for the 2025 Student Aluminum Extrusion Design Competition. High School, university, trade school, design school, and community college students are all eligible to compete for a total of $15,500 in student scholarships to be awarded to the best designs as judged by a panel of aluminum extrusion professionals in Spring 2025. The competition awards are sponsored by AEC members ALMAG Aluminum Inc. in Brampton, Ontario; MI Metals, Inc. in Oldsmar, Florida; and Pennex Aluminum Company LLC in Wellsville, Pennsylvania. Entry in the competition is free with entries due by March 24, 2025.
Aluminum Extruders Council Responds to The Aluminum Association’s Call for the Establishment of a North American Aluminum Trade Committee
On March 19, 2024, aluminum associations in the United States, Mexico and Canada issued a joint letter to trade officials in their respective countries requesting the formation of a “North American Aluminum Trade Committee” in advance of the 2026 review of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).
AEC Announces New Virtual Seminar for Automotive Industry
The Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC) introduces an educational seminar geared toward automotive industry design engineers, OEMs and tier one suppliers. The AEC Automotive Virtual Seminar, September 28 - 29, 2021, includes two half-day general sessions featuring aluminum extrusion industry experts discussing automotive component design, aluminum extrusion alloys, aluminum’s sustainability, extrusion applications and more.
